Overview


Nearly half of all HBO Max viewers watch with other adults or children in their homes, but the app has been focused around the individual. I was asked to learn more about basic co-viewing practices and to evaluate co-viewing concepts.





My Contribution


I interviewed couples using their own streaming accounts in HBO Max’s new research lab, informing co-viewing and decision conflict approaches, profile strategies, and early concept sentiments. I then surveyed a large audience to quantify key insights and rank refined solutions. I leveraged AI to analyze open-ended survey fields to efficiently identify likes, dislikes & opportunities.

Impact


The mixed qual, quant and AI approach provided a well-rounded yet precise understanding of the co-viewing space. The concept stimuli which I designed supported generative ideation and helped improve, rank and prioritize solutions.
